Elizabeth

Liz entered AWOL in 2007 through the Theater and Performing Arts program. As a writer and poet, she longed for a place where her voice could be heard without judgment. Liz says that AWOL gave her a place to “just be,” free from the noise and hustle and bustle of her life. Living in a single-parent home, Liz uses her poetry as therapy. Instead of expressing other negative behaviors outwardly, Liz has gotten increasingly better at writing and performing to release stress.
