Rashad loves to make music, and though he and his friends wanted to make music of their own, they often lacked the equipment necessary to produce and record the songs they imagined creating. The opportunities they did have were often not good situations and they were at risk of being scammed by adults looking to get them to sign away the rights to their songs with bad contracts. By getting involved with the PROJECTS class, Rashad has been able to work on music in a safe, friendly environment with young people his own age. Over the course of the program, he’ll be able to learn how to avoid predatory music industry situations, improve his self-esteem, and gain practical experience in writing and recording music.
